Sunday Shenanigans

Today was game day – a bitter sweet day – the St Louis Cardinals lost in game 3 against the pirates but the St Louis Rams sprung up a nice game against the jaguars for a win.

We had our dear friends over today so it was a long Menu – expectedlyJ.

Snacks – Homemade spicy Guacamole with Tortilla chips and Honey wheat pretzel sticks with a Cheddar n Horse Radish dip.

Salad – Mixed Caprice salad with Tomatoes, Onions, Fresh Basil and Mozzarella tossed in Olive oil, Balsamic, Salt n Pepper with a dash of Red pepper Flakes.

Main – Baby Back ribs – 2 styles – an Indian Tandoori rub with Garam masala, Coriander n Meat Masala and an Argentine rub with Turkish Cumin, Oregano n Parsley slowly done for 3 hrs at 275. And Thyme, Lemon Zest, White Wine, Olive Oil n Slat n Pepper Marinated Chicken grilled to char. Served with baked Potatoes and a thick Greek Yogurt Raita.

Poison – Well, no single favorites came out for this meal. The Guinness extra Stout, the Sierra Nevada Big Foot barley wine style ale & the Monk’s Stout Dupont would be the front runners in my book.

It was a great evening and my beloved friends did seem to enjoy the meal.

Thought for the day – The ~24 hrs of Marinating of the meat and the chicken is a step worth investing good effort into. It does make a difference each time.

As always – love is the most important ingredient.
