Today was a unique day - usually the boys n Me are vouching for Pizza (mostly on game days) - today Mommy wanted Pizza - out of the blues - no games, not a Friday, Nada - just a Pizza Thursday.
So we go on and get some Dewey's Pizza - pepperoni as usual - it being DJs first love. Had a grt time.
Discovered three nice pairings with Pizza - usually I go for light lagers and pilsners - but today I felt like something heavier & so I experimented.
- The Class of 88 - Barley Wine style Ale - a perfect heavy ale to go with Pizzas. its got a rich and smooth full body texture but does not feel overly heavy or make u feel full.
- Another one I tried today with Pizza - Ommegang Abbey Ale - this Dubbel Ale is smooth & the perfect absorbing nature for a Pizza. Complex flavours and yet keeps the palette clean.
- And last but not least, the Providential Belgian style golden ale by TJs - fruity bitter but not overpowering. Another new favorite for Pizzas.
As always - love is the most important ingredient.
